The Caduceus is the staff carried by the Ancient Greek god, Hermes. Hermes is the herald of the gods, as well as the protector of human heralds, travellers, thieves, merchants, and orators. As a symbolic object, it represents Hermes (or the Roman Mercury), and by extension trades, occupations, or undertakings associated with the god. He is also the god of speed and athletes.
